He is the son of John Clough (1613-1691) and Jane (?-1679/80). His siblings were Elizabeth Clough (1642-?), Mary Clough (1644-?), Sarah Clough (1646-?), John Clough (1648/49-?), Martha Clough (1654-?), Samuel Clough (1656-?).
Thomas Clough's first wife is Ruth Connor. They were married 1687 in Salisbury, MA. They had one known child named Zaccheus Clough (1692-?).
His second wife is Hannah Gile. They were married 10 MAR 1680 in Salisbury, MA.
Thomas was a farmer in Salisbury, was listed as a yeoman in 1730,signed the oath of allegiance in 1677, and was in the militia.
After his marriage, he received 6 acres of land on the Plains from hisfather where he built a house near his parents' home. In the will ofSamuel Gile, the father of his first wife, Thomas was granted land on theSpicket River in what is now Salem, NH, but was then part of Haverhill,MA. He and his family apparently continued to live in Salisbury after hissecond marriage as he and his wife, Ruth, were admitted to the SalisburyChurch on 27 July 1718.
