Trueworthy Ladd was born 21 MAY 1726 in Kingston, Rockingham County, New Hampshire. He died 26 APR 1778 in Goffstown, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire. He was the son of John Ladd (1689->1750) and Elizabeth Sanborn (1692->1748). His siblings were Elizabeth Ladd (1714-?), Love Ladd (1716-1720), Benjamin Ladd (1718-1783), John Ladd (1720-1802), Nathaniel Ladd (1722-1790), Jonathan Ladd (1724-?), Love Ladd (1727/28-1736), Dorothy Ladd (1730-1784).

Trueworthy Ladd's wife was Lydia Harriman (1729-1819). They were married 1 NOV 1750 in Kingston, Rockingham County, New Hampshire. Notes

Trueworthy was a clerk in Captain Alcock's company, PeterGilman'sregiment; in1756 he was a lieutenant in Captain Winslow'scompany; in1757 a lieutenant in Colonel Meserve's regiment; and in1758 a captainof a company in Colonel John Hart's regiment for Canadaservice. Hewas a surveyor of highways in Goffstown, NY, in 1771 and1772. In1775 he wrote to the Congress held in Exeter and volunteeredhimselfto serve his country "for the defence our our privilege, andenjoymentof liberty in America." His offer was accepted and he servedinCaptain Samuel McConnell's company, Colonel Moore's regiment whichwasraised to reinforcethe army at New York July 26, 1776.
