Saint-Bernard-of-Lacolle:
Since 1841, the inhabitants of the Seigniory of Lacolle had asked for theconstruction of a church which they wished to place under the term ofSaint-Patrick, several of them being of Irish origin.
At that time they were served by the priests of Napierville and St-Valentine. On February 1, 1842, Mgr Ignace Le Bourget, bishop ofMontreal, set up the parish of Saint-Bernard however, in the honor of MgrBernard-Claude Panet (1753-1833) thirteenth bishop of Quebec.
The following year, the first priest opens the parochial registers there.November 29, 1845, the municipality of the parish of Saint-Bernard isset up.
