Elizabeth Matte was born FEB 1825 in St. Pierre, PC, Canada. She is the daughter of Eloi Matte (1799-?) and Marguerite Hameau-Kamerer. Her siblings were Jean-Baptiste Matte (1820-1902), Maxime Matte (1822-?).
