Maxime Matte was born 24 JUL 1822 in St. Pierre, PC, Canada. He is the son of Eloi Matte (1799-?) and Marguerite Hameau-Kamerer. His siblings were Jean-Baptiste Matte (1820-1902), Elizabeth Matte (1825-?).
